Circle City Sweets logo

Welcome to Circle City Sweets! I am so excited to be sharing one of my favorite things - dessert - with you. Circle City Sweets began in January '07 and we are getting busier every day. We are now located at the Historic City Market building - 222 East Market Street. Our shop it located just inside the south door - SW corner of the building.

We are always looking for new and exciting opportunities for CCS. Here are a few things we are doing:

Markets

  • City Market, Wednesdays and Saturdays
  • Binford Farmer's Markets, Saturdays
  • Broad Ripple Farmer's Market, Saturdays
  • Carmel Market, Saturdays
  • Stadium Village Market, Tuesdays

Nicole-Taylor's Pasta and Market

  • This is the newest venture of Chef Tony and Rosa Hanslits. It is a wonderful shop at the 54th and Monon Shops – just down the way from Zest! Currently we are supplying them with our individual Tiramisu, frozen Tiramisu for 6, granola, jam, fruit bars and more! Stop in for some wonderful, fresh pasta, salads and homemade mozzarella and a wonderful bit of dessert.

Calvin Fletcher's Coffee House -

  • Check out this new coffee shop at 615 Virginia Avenue in Fletcher Place. We are providing them with muffins, coffee cakes, fruit bars, cookies, pumpkin bars, brownies and other goodies!

Pizzology -

  • 13190 Hazel Dell Pkwy, Carmel. Neal Brown has recently opened his new gourmet pizza shop in Carmel and we are thrilled to be making their Tiramisu for them. The reviews have been great!

Huddles Frozen Yogurt -

  • Located in Nora. Stop in for some wonderful frozen yogurt and you can top it with our red velvet cake, brownies and sugar cookies. They are also carrying our muffins, cinnamon rolls and almond poppy seed bread.

Ball and Biscuit -

Joseph Decuis in Roanoke, Indiana -

  • Carrying our caramel sauce, chocolate caramel sauce and raspberry chocolate jam.

There are many other restaurants and cafes that we are doing work with. Also, we are trying to finish up some details on opening an actual storefront - yeah!

What's in the oven

Thanks to everyone who is voting for us on the A-List! There are still a couple of more weeks, so keep on voting! If we finish in the top 3, we'll have a BIG TIME celebrate with lots of treats! A-LIST VOTING

PUT THIS ON YOUR CALENDAR! BEIGNET DAY is THURSDAY, SEPT. 9th. BE THERE EARLY! We do ask that if you are going to order 8 or more orders (an order is 3 beignets) please pre-order. We want to make sure we don't run out of dough too early again this week. Thanks!

POTENTIAL UPCOMING CLASS I have a lot of people ask me about offering pastry classes. Well, I am thinking of doing a one day/evening class on Day of the Dead Sugar Skulls. I think we would have a couple skulls for you to decorate, demo how to make the skulls and provide you a mold to make them at home. Let me know if this is something you would be interested in. If we get a good response, we'll get it set up.

Exciting news on the CIRCLE CITY SOUPS front - it looks like Roger will be up and running 5 days a week at City Market starting on Wednesday, September 15th! We are still finalizing the details on everything, but look forward to amazing soup and coming soon, salads and sandwiches.

This Wednesdays soups are Chicken Tortilla, Tomato Basil and, of course, the "My Dad's" Sweet Corn Chowder. If you would like to order a pint or quart, let me know. Otherwise, grab a cup and enjoy! Don't forget that if you want to get updates on the soups, email Roger at circlecitysoups@yahoo.com and ask to be added to his list, or join the Facebook group - Circle City Soups.

On Saturday, Roger will have Tomato Basil and "My Dad's". Starting in the next week or two at Broad Ripple, Roger will not only have the pints and quarts available, he will also be serving soup by the cup to enjoy while you shop. I'll let you know when that is going to begin. As a reminder, to guarantee we'll have a pint or quart for you, be sure to pre-order and we'll have it waiting.

In case you missed the article in the Indy Star, here's the link to the story.

JAMS - Indiana Peach with Indiana Lavender is AMAZING! I hate to admit this, but I ate almost an entire jar with some toasted beer bread last week. Be sure to check it out! I'll also be trying to replicate my grandmother's peach, plum and pear jam that I remember as a kid. I just know I loved it, and of course I don't have a recipe as I am sure she just had some left-over fruit and made a jam out of it. So, we'll be making "Ma's 3-P Jam".

MACARONS - I hope you were able to see the section in Indy Monthly on our French Macarons! If you by chance don't save your issues, I would love to get a couple more copies!! Thanks!! As of today, we have raspberry, vanilla, mango/passion fruit, chocolate, pistachio and hazelnut. Stop in and give them a try! Please note - we will NOT be bringing them to the Farmer's Markets unless you pre-order. They don't hold up so well out in the heat and humidity. If you want to order some, just let me know and we'll have them for you at the market you attend.

Check out our new Markets page with exclusive information about locations and what goodies we'll be having. Updates every week! We've opened our retail location in the City Market. Stop by and say hello!

Keep up with us on Facebook! Contact us if you'd like to be on our e-mail list.
